Directions
Start: Intersection of Hwy 29 and FM-1174 in Bertram.
Go north on FM-1174 for 5.9 miles until County road CR-200 crosses FM-1174. Turn left (west) on CR-200 and go .2 miles. CR-256 joins CR-200 on the left (south). There is a church just past CR-256 that easily visible. Turn onto CR-256, a dirt road. Drive .4 miles on CR-256 and the cemetery is on the right (west) of the road. There is a high arch gateway with "1879 Shady Grove Cemetery". There is a gate, unlocked. On the left side entering the cemetery is an open building. The cemetery is in good shape but there appears to have been some recent (June, 2007) vandalism with a couple of the small obelisk stones pushed off their pedestal.
